Spots

The spotted, black mouse scurried from his home behind the outlet when his brothers told him he didn’t belong due to his broken color. He locked his feelings in his heart and drifted wherever the breeze guided him; he did not see the tears from his mother’s eyes nor the pain. When he returned, he found her dead.

    What a great use of the TOP. I wasn’t expecting that ending at all. Sometimes I’ve felt I didn’t fit in and tried to make the best of that situation. When I got older I moved in a direction I was more comfortable with and I am happier for it these days. Hope all is well. Have a great day.
