Keepsake

The attendant sits back, focused as a corpse. If he could listen till his limbs fell off, he wouldn’t leave for life itself. He whispers silly love songs dull enough to not call attention to himself, but loud enough to keep his restless soul awake. His heart is a dangerous keepsake, for all who hold it have command.

i wonder what he is listening to and still distracted enough to sing. it almost seems like he is captured by love but longs to be somewhere else.

The attendent, sounds like me, when I don’t want to get up in the morning.

What is the attendant attending to? How focused is a corpse? listen til his limbs fall off? That would be a really long time!! Is is at some kind of performance?

Some fantasy here – surely a corpse is still enough to focus in a strong fashion. Nice…

Attending to the person who holds his heart at the moment, yes?
