The difference that set the crane apart disappear when she walks back as a woman. He doesn’t know how soon he will fall in love, but her takes her in. His greed watches her spinning her frail feathers into cloth, and she sits back down as a crane once more. She flies away and doesn’t show her face.

I love what you did with this one. This piece wants to be a dark fairy tale, I think. Haunting and beautiful.

The crane wife is an old Japanese tale. I’ve just been listening to a lot of The Decemberists, and one of their albums, The Crane Wife, was based on it.
