Prisoners

Metal spins circles around death. Hope rests inside a barrel for a permanent escape. We pass the gun around, one by one, waiting for our chance to make mistakes our parents will blame on themselves. Nobody is lucky enough to call upon that metal bullet. I wait for my turn and point it up, waving goodbye, then pull.
